Artists at Work...
At Green Lake Jewelry Works, the Artists and Craftsmen work directly with their clients to create beautifully designed and crafted jewelry. The shop is not in a back room, instead it is about one half of the floor space of the store. While designing in the shop, with the artists, you will have 250+ years of creativity and experience for the creation of your piece.

A Word About Pricing...
There is a common assumption that custom made jewelry will cost more than off the rack items, and sometimes that is the case. However, most of the time we can produce a top quality, beautiful and stylish custom Ring for less than most stores can sell an item of similar quality. The reason is that while a large, factory shop can mass produce for 10-20% lower cost, they just turn around and sell that item to a store that will mark it up from 50% to 150% to cover their own costs, marketing, profits etc. We make that ring for you, to your style and taste, and sell it to you with no extra markup. We have to pay our rent too, but only once, not for both a factory and a store.

Also, there are no giant factories making the highest quality jewelry like we create. The best work is done in shops with no more than 75-100 artisans, often far smaller, and even well known designers usually have their pieces made in modest size shops, so we are actually fairly large and efficient compared to our peers.

We Read Minds...
We love jewelry and enjoy spending time designing new and unusual pieces. We have tens of thousands of photos (of the thousands of pieces that we've made) in our computer database. We also have nearly 1000 pieces of our quality, handcrafted jewelry in stock. We will sketch ideas and/or create photo-realistic CAD renderings to help you visualize your new ring, and we strive to make each piece a new adventure. For the technically savvy we can also take your 2D or 3D files and view them right at our design stations.

Modern Tools...
We use the most modern techniques and equipment including computer design, visualization software and laser welding for "no solder" joints. Our shop is state of the art, with the most up to date tools. For example, each of our stone setters, hand engravers and filigree artists has a personal bench microscope for the finest detailed work. We also use one of the finest casting machines made - the Galloni Fusus New HD. We were the second shop in America (after Tiffany & Co.) to purchase one.

Although the mind and hand of an artist must create each new design, modern techniques help to perfect the creation of fine jewelry. We use the world's finest jewelry CAD/CAM software, Gemvision's Matrix, to create perfect symmetry on our master models for most custom pieces of jewelry. Following the machine work, skilled craftsmen work carefully to hand detail each wax model before client approval and casting.

Ancient Techniques...
We combine these modern tools with the time-tested techniques of hand crafting fine jewelry one piece at a time. Our custom pieces are created individually, not in massive batches of 100's of identical pieces. We carve waxes, cast, hand fabricate, hand engrave and carefully match and hand set the stones in our jewelry right here the shop.
