Hello! I love the design of this ring! Please let me know more information
about it.

Hello! Thanks for spending time on our website, Im Krista and I have been
making and designing jewelry for over 9 years in our family shop. We specialize
in custom jewelry and are happy to work with you over the internet, through our
interactive blog and over the phone. You are interested in a very beautiful
design
this is personally one of my favorites!
This particular ring is estimated at costing XXXX. The Center Stone price is
not included in this estimate. This particular ring is made in platinum but
other metals are available per your request. White gold tends to be slightly
warmer in tone, but there are some exciting new choices in
metals so it is worth a bit of reading if platinum is not for you. I
believe this piece is best when made in platinum, but the choice of metal can
really make a difference in the price.
What kind of diamond were you thinking of using? Take a look at our diamond
search page or give us a call
we will be
more than happy to work with you to find the perfect stone(s).
Most rings we make are custom made from scratch or modifications of existing
ideas. This ring for instance could easily have simple changes like different
engraving, filigree or side stones, it can also be made with a different shank
shape (softly squared, we call it Euro) or with sharper, heavy bottom corners
and round inside. Do not hesitate to ask for these
changes as they are everyday work for us!

I am interested in an asscher cut diamond of at least 1.5 carats and using
platinum as the metal. However, I am curious what the price difference would be
between 18k white gold and platinum. Also, I would like to slightly redesign
this ring. Can you soften the look of the side triangular plates holding the
side diamonds?
I love the antique look but would prefer for it to be a little less ornate. Is
this possible? Maybe eliminate the engraving, I think
?

It is absolutely possible! I love the soft square (We call it Euro Shank) , and
it is very popular as it is the most comfortable fit. Ill have one of our
artists draw some rough sketches and send them your way.
Platinum is much more expensive than 18k gold, as much as 3x as much for material only,
but with labor and artistrycosting the same in either metal, the price difference for a ring like this would be
about 400.00-600.00 less in 18kt white gold. However, this price can often
fluctuate. We will give you a firm quote once we know more details
of the ring and size. As for the diamond
an asscher cut diamond would look
wonderful in this style. I would also check out a radiant cut diamond. I have
attached a few pictures of what these diamonds would look like. Keep in mind
that these diamonds are not the correct carat size. A 1.5 carat diamond is
larger than the ones pictured. You will notice that the radiant cut diamonds
(located on the right side of the picture) appears to be more sparkly while
it retains the rectangular shape you are going for.

You are absolutely right about the diamond. I thought that asscher was the one
for me but now Im leaning towards radiant. Ill let you know what I decide.
Thanks!

Here are the rough sketches of a few choices. Keep in mind that these are very
preliminary drawings. If you dont absolutely love them
it is no problem to change them.
Let me know what you think!

The sketches look great! I like the rounded edges on the triangles, and I like
the round prong choice the best. From the side view, I like the shape of the
prongs from the original ring a lot so lets not change that! I also really
like the less ornate sides. I looked at the website and like the plain ring
with just the millegrained edges like you sketched here.

Im so glad you like the sketches. What is your finger size? If you don't know
it you can click here
to determine it yourself.

My ring size is 5 ½. Whats the next step?

Now, one of our professional artists will create a more detailed drawing of
your ring. A cad rendering will also be created to give you even more of an
idea what your finished ring will look like. This will take about 5 days. I
will be getting back to you very soon! Have a great weekend!

Here are the polished sketches. Keep in mind that these can be changed if you
see something you do not like.

and here is a rendering for you to peruse.

The rendering looks really good, but I do not want the triangle holding the
three smaller diamonds to be raised as high as it is in the rendering. I want
it to look like the ones in the sketches. I also wanted you to know that I have
finally decided on a radiant cut diamond opposed to an asscher. Please let me
know various price ranges for these diamonds in the 1.5 carat range. I am
interested in colorless or near colorless ones. I do not want a yellow tint
that I can see at all. Thanks!

You have made a beautiful diamond choice! These diamonds typically cost in the
XXXX range but can vary depending on the cut, clarity and color. Take a look at
our diamond search page listed under gemstones on our website, and feel free
to either ask me more questions or give us a call to talk to our gemologist!
She will be more than happy to answer any of your pending diamond questions.
Once you have selected a diamond, our next step is to create a wax for you to
view either through pictures or we can actually send it to you to try on. Ill
let you know when it is finished. We will make your requested change in the wax
for your approval.

I called and spoke to Anastasia about the diamonds, wow she knows her stuff! We
decided to get a nice 1.5 ct radiant she found for us. She looked over several
and chose the nicest one for us, and promised that if we did not love it we
could swap it or even return it for a refund.

Thats right, we have a full money back guarantee on all of our stones, and a
solid custom love it or we will remake it guarantee on our custom work.
We all love to make jewelry and always give our honest opinion about the best
stone, metal or style
so trust us, we never want to deliver a piece we designed
and made that is not fabulous!
More Good news
your wax is finished! Ive attached pictures for you to view.
Please let me know if you like these or if you would like any changes to be
made.

Pictures look great! However, I would like to view the wax in person if
possible.
posted by John Q. Public at 11/5/2004 1:26:59 PM
It is very possible! Ill send it off this afternoon. Keep in mind that this
will prolong the process depending on how long you keep it for. Also remember
that while the wax rings are semi-hard they can still break so careful handling
is needed. But do not stress, if you break it, we will make a new one, and there is no charge for this!
Let me know what you think of it!

I just received the wax model of the ring in the mail and I love it! No changes are needed
Ill
send it back to you today. Thanks for sending it.

amazing! Our next step is to cast. Ill send you pictures as soon as its
finished (prior to placing in stones). Have a great weekend!

Thank you so much for all your time. I will let you know as soon as it arrives!

Krista, the ring arrived today, and I cannot tell you how excited I am and how
impressed we both are with your shop. We were a bit concerned about designing
a ring over the internet, and we even took the picture from your website around the Bay area
and got estimates from a couple other jewelers. They either said that they could not do the filigree
work as shown (or had no examples to prove they could) or they quoted over $1000.00 more than
you did to make it. I am so glad we came back to you, and got an Original! WE LOVE it!! We will tell all
our friends
