Madeleine T
Gold & Platinumsmith
My path to becoming a metalsmith has been anything but linear - but it’s been full of creative discovery. I studied English Literature and Visual Arts at the University of Kansas, where I also minored in metalsmithing and jewelry making. My love of hands-on work actually started behind the espresso bar at KU Dining Services, where I first fell in love with the rhythm and focus of crafting something beautiful - like a perfect latte.
That same appreciation for process and detail eventually led me to knock on doors around Lawrence, KS in search of a jewelry apprenticeship, which opened the door to the fine jewelry world. After a move to Seattle, I took a brief detour at the Capitol Hill Starbucks Roastery, but I knew I belonged back at the bench. I soon joined a local jewelry brand and continued to refine my skills and artistic voice.
Now at Green Lake, I’m excited to keep growing as a metalsmith. I’m deeply inspired by the fleeting and intricate beauty of nature - especially flowers, insects, and the delicate forms found in the wild - and I strive to bring that same sense of wonder and attention to detail to every piece I create.
