I’m a self-taught goldsmith whose path into jewelry started in Michigan, where I spent years making jewelry by hand and experimenting with metalsmithing techniques on my own. Early on, I became fascinated by complex fabrication and technical problem solving, which led me to take visiting artist workshops focused on techniques like chasing three-dimensional forms and hidden hinges. I later attended Bowling Green State University before continuing my education through hands-on experience in studios, workshops, and the fine jewelry industry.
My career has taken me through a lot of different corners of the jewelry world. I worked as the metals studio technician and artist resident at Touchstone Center for Crafts before moving into fine jewelry fabrication and repair at Henne Jewelers in Pittsburgh. Later, I joined Tiffany & Co. at their flagship Fifth Avenue location in New York City, where I worked on alterations and repairs for high jewelry collections and collaborated directly with VIP clientele. Before eventually making my way to Seattle and joining Green Lake Jewelry Works, I also worked at Van Cleef & Arpels manufacturing high jewelry pieces with a focus on intricate clasps and mechanisms.
What excites me most is creating pieces that are technically difficult and push my skills further as a goldsmith. I love the challenge of taking raw materials and transforming them into something meaningful that someone will wear and treasure for generations. Outside of the studio, I spend a lot of time making sculptures, kayaking with my dog Beverly, biking, camping, baking, and swimming. I also play the musical saw and used to perform in a bluegrass band back in Michigan.
