Phae S
Gem Lab Assistant
GIA AJP
My journey in the jewelry industry started early, growing up with a mother deeply immersed in fine jewelry. I spent time visiting the shop from a young age and seamlessly transitioned into my first role as a greeter at Green Lake. Since then, I’ve expanded my expertise across multiple departments and now work as a gem lab assistant. Along the way, I earned my GIA Accredited Jewelry Professional (AJP) certification, which has deepened my knowledge of the craft. I’m also learning how to cut gemstones - an exciting skill that I’m loving and looking forward to honing even more!
I have a deep appreciation for storytelling and learning, which fuels my creativity beyond jewelry - evidenced by my goal of reading a book a month. I enjoy exploring various artistic mediums like drawing, crochet, and crafting eclectic outfits from my collection of thrifted and DIY clothes. I’m also a performer with Cheer Seattle, an all-adult volunteer LGBTQ+ cheerleading nonprofit, where I love bringing energy and joy to my community while supporting local causes. When I’m not cheering, you’ll find me at punk shows, discovering new produce at local markets for my latest culinary creations, or relaxing with my two cats, Clementine and Benny.
When it comes to gemstones, I have a special love for color-change Montana sapphires. I’m drawn to their unique ability to shift hues, and their versatility and beauty perfectly reflect my ever-evolving creativity and passion for learning.
