Jeremy
Color Gem Director
Gold and Platinumsmith
Graduate Gemologist
In 2009 Jeremy was awarded the Marion Halfacre Scholarship for gemology to attend the Gemological Institute of America as a Graduate Gemologist and joined Green Lake thereafter. He is currently a designer, as well as a gold and platinumsmith, yet considers himself a perpetual student, learning the finer skills such as hand engraving. As a designer he mindfully focuses on the organic, but also pays close attention to linear geometry and structure while making jewelry. He believes both form and function are needed to create a beautiful piece.
Jeremy began working with metals in early high school in Michigan. After graduating with a B.A. in Business from Michigan State University and a strong desire to return to the craft, he went on to apprentice with a master platinumsmith in Chicago for several years.
Jeremy’s main focuses has been on hand fabrication, gemstone setting, and wax carving. He has attended workshops to attain his skill and has worked for himself in the downtown Chicago area servicing several jewelry stores doing repair, custom fabrication, and setting.
