When you finish customizing your design, we will reply with gem and design ideas and a thorough price quote.
Count on us to help you get just the right gems for your special piece, we've got the sources and are very picky, too!
*Most online jewelers list gems they don't own, from RapNet, Polygon and other feeds.
We are often able to supply the actual gem you see, or find you a better one for your project.
This gives a more coherent, purposeful look to every element, with each element just the right size and in just the right place.
Setting cost varies by difficulty and stone count. Prong set and flush set are the fastest and easiest, French fishtail is gorgeous, but time consuming and the most expensive setting style.
The setting cost per stone goes down dramatically as the number of stones increases.
We are very picky about our setting work and it shows. Our accent setting lasts a lifetime and that is guaranteed.
From the setting style to the pattern of a band, this is the view that the wearer sees the most.
Share any ideas, almost everything is customizable.
The front view is personal, with less visible elements that are mostly seen by the wearer.
The shank is mostly felt, not seen. Euro shanks often fit better and can help top heavy rings turn less.
While many people ask for a thin shank, a slightly heavier shank will ensure a lifetime of comfort and wear.
The shank is mostly felt, not seen.
Ask about custom profiles for your shank.
If the top is the face of a ring, the side view is the body, foundation and soul.
Hand engraving is the finishing touch of many of our designs and one of the pinnacles of the jewelry arts.
Engraving is cutting Patterns, Letters or Motifs directly into the metal. Some jewelers pretend that Carved patterns, which are produced in the wax or resin model and cast into place are engraving. Hand engraving is finer and much more detailed & delicate than cast patterns.
Pro Tip | For more choices, add any engraved item to your favorites with a note to use the engraving in your project.
Most of our hand engraving is done by hand, but we do sometimes cast patterns or lettering inside as well.
Hand engraving inside is the traditional way to share a private message for the wearer, from wedding dates and initials to pet names.
Stock rings (with room to engrave) come with up to 20 characters of inside engraving, free!
There are some rings with such small areas that no inside engraving fits, but on wider bands, more complex motifs and even your actual fingerprints can be engraved!
Real hand-made filigree is a treasure, and rarely done in factory made jewelry.
Proper filigree is done by curling, twisting and bending fine threads of wire by hand, and installing them in small windows or panels, and the effect is subtle and delightful. Complex patterns can be created with details like initials, fabricated leaves, overlapping pattens or with the addition of gemstones.
Fine details like real filigree are the difference between an heirloom and an ordinary piece of jewelry.
Pro Tip | To choose a specific filigree pattern, add any item with filigree to your favorites.
Most of our textures are finishes done by hand, but some are carved and cast (bark, terrain and other organic textures are often a mixture or a cast pattern and hand finishes).
In addition to our standard textures, we offer many custom finishes and textures. Always feel free to add any item with an element you like to your favorites with the project name you want to use it for.
Pro Tip | For more choices, add any item to your favorites with a note to use the texture in your project.
As part of our Above and Beyond® Metals initiative, we cast with Fairmined or recycled metals only, and were one of the first jewelers to do so.
Our goal is to minimize the use of industrial mining and to help support and protect small scale miners through improved mining practices.
Ask about our white metal options, from the whitest white to dark gray.
While platinum is every master jewelers' first choice, the metal you select for your custom piece is reflective of your personal taste, budget and how the piece will be worn.
Ring size is very personal. Some people prefer a ring that is looser, while others like a snug fit.
We need to know the size of the ring early in the design process. We have several ways to help you determine the size of the ring you want.
The wearer should be measured with a sizer that is similar in width to the ring. Wide and narrow rings fit quite differently even when the exact same diameter.
If you have a larger or small size than shown, no worries, just list your size in the project notes.
Especially now, you may be rushed, so please ask! We excel at satisfying every client, and we can almost always work to your deadline!
Everyone has a budget, and we work hard to honor yours. Please tell us what is most important and we will design to your needs.
