As the solder liquefies, it flows smoothly between the metals, creating a seamless bond. When cooled, the solder solidifies, permanently fusing the pieces together.

Due to the two-tone nature of this design, the mountains and sky are cast separately. Einar begins the fabrication process by soldering the metals together. He carefully places small beads of solder between the metal sections, then applies a precise amount of heat with a torch—just enough to melt the solder without damaging the band.
