Dat then moves on to setting the center stone. He begins by using a hart burr to cut a precise seat inside each prong—essentially a small notch that holds your diamond level and secure over time. Using a wax dop, he carefully lowers the stone into place. Once he confirms that it’s sitting evenly, he gently squeezes the tips of the prongs over the top of the diamond, locking it in. Finally, the entire ring is cleaned, polished, and steamed to achieve the perfect finish.

Dat begins the setting process with the accent diamonds. He starts by carefully enlarging the pilot holes that were cast in place on the leaves, refining each one to the exact size needed for a perfect fit.

Once the stones are positioned in place, he uses small, hand-fabricated beads of metal to gently push over the edges, securing each diamond with precision and care.
